HELPFUL
HINTS
FOR
WRITING YOUR LIFE’S STORY
1) Keep it short and
punchy. Don’t worry about proper syntax – readers don’t care; they just want to
hear a good tale.
2) You don’t have to use
all 500 words (you’re still living after all). If you’re a 22-year-old tax
accountant, getting to 30 words might be tough. If you’re Keith Richards, 500
words covers about five minutes.
3) Stick to the BIG
stuff. Life-altering, unique, traumatic, uplifting, whatever. Just make sure
it’s more important than washing shorts.
4) Be specific and
include actual events. In other words, unless you were jailed and beaten for
them, your views on socialism are not applicable.
5) Above all else,
remember it’s your life, so write from the heart. Do it, and you WILL NOT be
boring.
